Art Room Art

                                                                                                                                                                           This term we made some colourful bird art inspired by a New zealand artist who makes casual art to buy and put in your home. We started this art last term by painting the background for the bird then this term we made the bird and drew and stuck on all the decorations.

I really enjoyed painting the background and being able to chose different colours and shapes to make this bird art my own.

I found it quite hard to stay in the lines with the water colour because it would always just leak into another part of the artwork also I found it hard to find a place for the last tree because it was already really crowded.

I found it easy to cut out all my shapes and glue them all around the background  also I found it easy to draw the trees around the bird.

Next time I will be better than before and make sure I take my time so my art will look even better.

Te Atua

 

We were learning to know what all the atuas names are and what they stand for. So each of us made our own slides showing what each of the atua stand for. We also learnt how to recite the atuas names and what they stand for then used mute to record ourselfs.

I really enjoyed putting the slides together and trying to find all the images I needed to represent all of the different Atua.

I found it hard to pronounce the names of the Atua and what they represent. But now thinking about it I should have asked someone who knew how to pronounce them to help.

I found it easy to collect Images and set up the slides in a format that is easy for me and hopefully others to understand. 

Next time I will do better than before pronouncing the names of all the Atua and what they represent.

The Koru

 

Today we where doing a quick write about the koru in this piece of writing we had to describe the koru how it looks and just over all create a good piece of writing.

I found it easy to find the image in the background and change my slide to how I wanted it to look.

I found it hard to think of how to describe the koru because there are only so many ways to describe a koru because of the limited things to describe but in the end I got there.

I really enjoyed decorating the the slides to how I'd like them and challenging myself to write more even though it's clear I didn't because of my limited imagination.

Next time I need to work harder and get more similes in and maybe even some personification in my writing to make it more interesting to read.

Authors Purpose

Today we were learning how to find the authors purpose, our learning assets we were using were kairangahau and kaiwhakarite (be a researcher & self manager). We learnt that the authors purpose can be to Persuade Inform or Entertain, other wise know as P.I.E.

I found it easy to read the text and find what I needed in the text to answer the questions asked.

I really enjoyed Trying to find what the authors purpose  was in these two texts.

Next time I will  do better with finding the authors purpose in text.

Copyright challenge!

 

We were learning how to use copyright images by giving credit to the user and about fair use of images so for this challenge we had to use the explore tool. We had twelve boxes as you can see here.

I found it easy to find images that represent what I love and care for.

I found it hard to decide on what to put for my favorite colour and animal but in the end this is what I came up with.

I really enjoyed putting together these images of what I like.

Next time maybe I could put some more time into it to make it look better than before.

Road Safety Media

We were learning about creating media.

I really enjoyed making this video on i-movie with my friends.

Next time I need to focus on the task and manage my time while we were creating media we got close to not finishing at all.

Respect in the Classroom Pic Collage

 

We were learning about respect so room two had to get in groups of five or four and take some photos of us showing respect in the assigned setting Danika, Porshia, Eden and I were assigned to the classroom as you can see in the photos in our pic collage.

We found it easy to use pic collage as a tool to help make a quick and simple way to make a collage of our photos.

We found it hard to get some of the angels for some of the images but in the end it ended up looking really nice.

We really enjoyed setting up and taking these photos while having fun together.

Next time I need to work with the group a bit more and listen to others ideas.

My writing reflections

 

For our writing we have been writing Narratives. We have been learning to add a great hook in or opening line to our writing and to start our sentences in different ways.

This week we also had to have a smile and alliteration in our writing. This slide shows my hook in, sentence beginnings, simile and alliteration.

We are using our Kaiwhakarite/Self Manager learning asset by reflecting on our learning.

My BIO poem

 

We were learning about writing a BIO poem, we had to use the sentence starters and then type the things we love, care for and are scared of.

I found it easy to find most of my facts about myself because some of them were quite similar but I finished in  the end.

I found it hard to Find some facts about myself for my BIO poem, which is odd because its about me so I should know.

I really enjoyed having something fun and simple to work on. I also really enjoyed having to do this again this year as a refresher and to see how my likings have changed.

Next time I will manage my time more and think a bit more about what I'm putting on my page.
